 Job Responsibilities:
The Purchasing Manager will direct and coordinate the sourcing, planning, scheduling, and purchasing of materials, capitol equipment and all other items/services required to support the organization. 

-Responsible for negotiating terms and conditions, including pricing, with suppliers for all direct and indirect purchases as well as material cost estimates for cost proposals, implementing related business systems and budgetary accountability. 
-Responsible for oversight and implementation of shipping and receiving functions. 
-Responsible for oversight and implementation of U.S. Government Property Administration and related inventory management.  
Must be thoroughly knowledgeable of purchasing concepts including, cost estimating, shipping, receiving, U.S. Government Property Administration, operational requirements, and processes as they apply to the entire organizational spectrum as well as compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulations and related DOD supplements and manuals.

  • Must have either a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
  • Must have knowledge of techniques and methodologies in resolving issues with problematic suppliers. A history of successful efforts in this area is a plus.
  • Must excel in all aspects of material acquisition to include: source/vendor development, material quality, budgetary requirements, inventory management skills, equipment accountability, strategic planning, new vendor negotiation, scheduling, ISO 9000 and Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarization with a MRP/ERP application (preferably Deltek/Cost Point).
  • Must be able to direct the design, production, and implementation processes for all purchasing activities and provide recommendations for changes and improvements.
  • Must be able to participate in planning, conducting, implementing and controlling acquisition/development of logistics support and implementation processes.
  • Must be able to collect and analyze system design, operations, organizational logistics support requirements and define material support requirements.
  • Must be able to perform life cycle cost and trade-off analyses.
  • Must have a minimum of 10-12 years of demonstrated purchasing management experience or project level management in major systems/sub-systems preferred in non-government organizations closely related to the Defense Industry and Aerospace.

 Qualified candidates will hold an active Secret Clearance or have the ability to be cleared!!
