Job Description:
 
A lead position responsible for designing 2D and 3D graphical assets for use in gaming projects including animations, models, logos, symbols, special effects, etc. Leads and mentors more junior artists in best practices. Must work directly with engineers and game designers to process game assets into a form compatible for game production.
 
Job Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Utilizes art knowledge and computer software skills to produce high quality 2D and 3D assets for gaming environment including video, glass artwork, signage, etc
  • Mentors team in creating assets using experience, advanced methodologies, and best practices
  • Develops innovative design solutions with engineers and game designers for new products
  • Creates visual content that accentuates the underlying game math and integrates into the system platform requirements
  • Proactively works with multidiscipline project team to collaboratively create the highest quality games
  • Researches and disseminates information on new techniques, tool sets, and best practices to the team
  • Various production duties including (but not limited to):
    • Game Documentation
    • Game Prototyping
    • Tradeshow artwork support
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Knowledge/Skills Required

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Must have expertise and working knowledge in of 3 of the 4 Adobe Products (Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects and Flash)
  • Must have extensive working knowledge of texturing, special effects (like particle illusion), motion graphics, composting, vector based animation, etc.
  • Must have knowledge of/experience in graphic design, color theory and composition

Education, Training and Experience

  • Associate’s Degree or Certification in art or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • 5+ years work experience in digital media and design
